ROCK AND BREWS , OVERLAND PARK : EATING OUT

Weekends always scream BRUNCH for me. It can be any month of the year, but you make a plan for Brunch and I shall be there. The husband was practicing with his band one weekend in Spring, and I was cribbing about the fact, how weekends are supposed to be all about family time. The silence which followed after the cribbing session and counter argument was super gloomy. But you want to know how I was smiling soon, like this. The man decided we do a nice family Brunch before he headed off to jam. I was clearly not complaining any more.

We headed to Rock and Brews in Prairie Fire in Overland Park, Kansas. We have been to our share of KISS concerts, and we were looking forward to our Brunch experience.

It was the perfect Brunch spot for my Hard Rock lovin husband. And I was enjoying the 'US' time and Sunshine which was streaming in through the huge glass windows. Who doesnt love sunshine in Spring, in the Midwest ! Music memorabilia was everywhere from the ceiling to walls. While you waited for your order to arrive, you could enjoy the music and soak it all in. There were quite a few other families with kids, and somehow that always speaks to me, for a venue's overall appeal.

The Coffee was a house blend and a medium roast. While I love my dark roasts, this seemed to be quite nice. Maybe I need to change up my coffee more often.

We had ordered the Eggs Benedict which came with a side of house potatoes. Now for any Brunch joint, Eggs Benedict can be a make or break factor. But for this place, it surely was on the bright side. The hollondaise was creamy , the eggs were poached just right. I loved the red potatoes which had been fried with a generous helping of rosemary. The crunch of the potatoes was a good contrast to the silky eggs.

My daughter had her Mac and Cheese. It was a good portion for a kids meal. The slightest dash of red pepper added a nice kick, which wasn't too hot for kids to handle, but elevated flavor profile of the pasta a lot higher.

It was a nice morning over some good food. I still cant forget those potatoes though. We did have to box up some leftovers from my daughter's pasta plate. I must say, it made for a good snack for Mommy later in the day, as Daddy played his bass with his buddies.

THE RED MAXI DRESS

A lady in red shall always steal the show. Or so I feel. Red is a color which does not have to scream the Holiday season always. It can be a great transition color when the Summer days give way to crisp Fall evenings. This Red printed Maxi Dress screamed out my name when I had first laid eyes on it. I was shopping for my vacation to India and Europe, and was on the look out for dresses which I could layer with a light jacket, if the weather changed. While this dress is a statement in itself, it pairs beautifully with a cropped denim jacket. The waist line does a good job in hiding my tummy bulge without clinging to my body.

As the color of the dress is quite bold, I kept the accessories to a minimum. MAC Ruby Woo on my lips, Rayban Wayfarers, my diamond bracelet, which I wear everyday and everywhere, and zirconia studded red watch completed the ensemble. I had worn it for a picnic, so stuck to ballet flats for comfort.

If you liked my Outfit and would like to purchase any of the items mentioned, I am including links from where you can directly shop.

MANI - PEDI FOR ME AND MINI ME AT SATINROSE, KOLKATA

Jolly Chanda and Riona
My vacations to India are always special. Meeting up with family and friends and spending quality time. A stop at my favorite SatinRose Beauty Salon and Spa , Kolkata, is a must do, at every visit. Owned and operated by a lady, who is not only beautiful inside out, but is the best there is, when it comes to hair care and skin care, in Kolkata, if not all of India. Meet Jolly Chanda. An amazing hairstylist, and an awesome skin care consultant. If there are rockstars in the field of hair and skin care, she is the biggest rockstar there is. Love you Jolly.

So one Summer afternoon in India, me and my Mini Me Riona, headed for an appointment for an extended pamper session. Manicure and Pedicure are my favorite modes of relaxation, if anyone asked me to choose a service. Jolly had her team offer a Complimentary Mani-Pedi for Riona, as a special treat. And it became a special time for Me and Mini Me. Thank you Jolly.

I opted for the Spa Pedicure and Manicure over the normal Mani - Pedi as my feet and hands were in bad shape. I shall let the Step by Step Pictures do the talking.
